This weekend I was reunited with my husband after four long months of him being overseas. It was a wonderful weekend and I am sad to see him go. Watermelon 3 ways for a great Summer treat
1. Watermelon Mint Sorbet Ingredients: 4 pounds of watermelon, seeded and scooped into big chunks (that’s the most that would fit in my blender) 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon raw (turbinado) sugar 3 limes, juiced 3 tablespoons white rum pinch sea salt 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon mint, chopped (I wish I had used more than pictured above!) Weekend Highlight: Work. Eat. Repeat
What a trip this first month of work has been. The startup life is a huge change from my lady of leisure days, now seeming like a distant past. It's crazy how when you throw yourself into what you do in such a short period of time it seems like you've been doing it forever. I'm still trying to figure out my new normal but I am confident I will get there soon. Weekend Highlight: Family Time
This weekend was a nice long holiday weekend. Saturday and Sunday I got to spend time with the family. It was my cousin Gabriella's birthday on Saturday so we spent the day celebrating at my aunt and uncles house in Livermore. Thankfully it wasn't that hot so the afternoon was spent outdoors, catching up over appetizers and margaritas, rocking on the swing, and listening to the soothing sounds of running water from their waterfall and pond. I have to say that I am really diggin' the FEED for Target collection. There are so many pieces that I want and just in time for the 4th of July.
