Last night I was thinking about my husband, if you're new to my blog or just forgot he is currently overseas, and our short time in SoCal. How I've been missing our place in Carlsbad; our amazing roof deck with ocean views situated within walking distance to the beach, shops, and a number of great coffee spots. Anyway, last night I couldn't help but think about how wonderful the last week was before he left and I made the drive back up north. We crammed in as much romantic time as we could and on our last night we took a hot air ... Read more...
A Look Inside: Hotel Missoni
I am a huge Missoni fan. My first Missoni purchase was back in college. I bought one of their silk scarves. I now have a few dresses too! I sadly didn't get to pick up any pieces from their collaboration with Target; I had to work & purchasing online, well we all know what happened! In search for the next A Look Inside post I stumbled upon Hotel Missoni and I thought "how fitting." So here we have it, a place ... Read more...
Recipe: Butternut Squash + Kale Strata
For last weekends Sunday Brunch I decided to try my hand at making a Strata. The great thing about making a Strata is that you can do most of the work the day before and just wait to bake it the day of. What You Will Need: 2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for greasing 2 pounds butternut squash—peeled, seeded and cut into ... Read more...
Weekend Highlight: Eat, Drink, Repeat!
This weekend was quite eventful! Saturday was spent celebrating my BFF's younger brother's Bar Mitzvah. For those of you that don't know, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah is the rite of passage into adulthood in the Jewish tradition. I am so proud of his accomplishments and the young man he is turning into; we celebrated by dancing the night away to his band PG13. On Sunday I enjoyed my first hosted party in the newly updated garden patio, featured here. I'm so thankful for my friends that made the journey out to "the country" to spend a ... Read more...
Our Garden Retreat: Patio Update
After much work my vision for my parents patio has been realized. I am so happy that my parents listened to me and allowed me to carry out my design for their patio. It used to be a neglected area of their property and now it is a retreat, an area for relaxation and entertainment. If you don't remember I posted a little while back about "4 ideas to spruce up your patio" to make it a more usable and aesthetically pleasing space. I have implemented those 4 ideas and here is the finished ... Read more...
