I can't believe it's already approaching the halfway mark of this seasons New York Fashion Week. It's such a whirlwind of an experience. I've seen some great shows and presentations as well as met some really nice people. It's so fun to be surrounded by people who love the exact same things as you do. The fashion industry is vibrant and full of energy and you can sense it though out the city during fashion week. This is the last season where it will be held at Lincoln Center and sponsored by Mercedes Benz but I am excited to see where ... Read more...
6 items to Pack for NYFW Fall Winter 2015
I'm so excited to be heading back to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week! This season I am going to stay for the entire week. I still can't believe I am going to be away from work for so long but I am just praying that nothing major will happen while I'm away. I'm sure you can tell that I haven't taken much of a vacation ever since I started my job at a startup. So I have a little confession, I'm not a cold weather person. Walk on the Wild Side
While on my last trip to NY, in between fashion shows at NYFW, my mom and I had planned a night out on Broadway. We saw two back to back shows one on Broadway and one off-broadway. I packed clothes that I felt screamed New York and this outfit made me feel like I was walking on the wild side, perfect for seeing Wicked and the Anna Wintour and Kim Kardashian inspired show called Ryan Raftery is the Most Powerful Woman in Fashion. Prior to leaving I felt I didn't have enough New York appropriate clothes, any reason to pick up a few new ... Read more...
Academy of Art University at NYFW
Designer: Szu Chi Huang. Designer: Mia Jianxia Ji. Designer: Madison Detro. Designer: Die Zhou. This is the second time I have been to an Academy of Art runway show at NYFW. The first time my friend, Naomi Sutton, was showing at Bryant Park and I was lucky enough to be able to go to New York to support her and her collection. I was so blown away by all of the students showing that season but was partial to her collection, of course! So when I knew I was attending NYFW this season I reached out to see if ... Read more...
Pop Up Shop: Marrin Costello Jewelry
While in New York I got invited to a pop up shop at the RePopRoom in Chelsea, NY. On my final full day in New York I headed from event to event. I'm so happy that I decided to head to this event because I met Marrin Costello of MarrinCostello™. I quickly fell in love with her new stoned collection. I loved how some of her pieces had more than one way to wear them. One necklace converted from short, to long, to a body chain, seriously impressive and very cleaver. Marrin is as sweet as her pieces and I just loved how versatile ... Read more...
