I'm a big fan of wine country, I've been up to Napa and Sonoma many times (most recent visit I've blogged about here, here, and here). This summer I've already been to two places I haven't visited before. Paso Robles (though I've driven through there a number of times) and now Healdsburg just a week later. It's so fun to make spur of the moment plans, and that is exactly how this trip came about. My friend called me on a Wednesday and the very next day I was driving up to meet her in Healdsburg for a girls trip and some wine tasting! ... Read more...
Mini Vacation in Paso Robles
The other week I took a mini vacation with Mason and my mom down to Paso Robles. I was in major need of a change of scenery. After almost two weeks on my own without Justin I was getting a bit stir crazy. Paso Robles isn't that far but it feels like a world away from Santa Cruz. The temps are much hotter and wine country, need I say more. I'm a huge fan of wine country but typically visit Napa Valley, Saratoga, Calistoga, etc. I've only driven through Paso and have always wanted to come for a visit. We spent our first ... Read more...
Brunch at Auberge du Soleil
Auberge du Soleil has been on my list of places to go to when I'm up in Napa Valley for a long time now. I knew I most likely wouldn't be staying there but I could definitely dine at their Michelin-Star Restaurant. My friend and I went for brunch during our trip to Napa a few weekends ago and all I can say is the food was mouth-wateringly delicious and the service was amazing!! They were so incredibly accommodating with us and the baby. As well as being super accommodating with me being dairy free. Executive Chef, Robert Curry’s ... Read more...
An Afternoon at Bardessono
Every time I visit Napa Valley I like to try and visit new places. I don't believe that I have eaten at the same restaurant twice! Besides Bouchon Bakery, which I go to at least once on every trip, I am slowly eating my way through wine country. When it comes to wine tasting I also have my go-to places I will always stop at like Domaine Carneros, but I too like to try new wineries at each visit. On my most recent trip I finally got to check out Bardessono and ate at Lucy's Restaurant and Bar at Bardessono for lunch. It was a rainy ... Read more...
Review: The Meritage Resort and Spa
The Meritage Resort and Spa is a four-star hotel with five-star service. From the moment we drove up to the front of the resort their customer service staff were so friendly and our experience was perfectly orchestrated. I think it was probably one of the smoothest transitions I've experienced from checking in to having their bell service help unload my car (we had so many bags especially since I wanted to make sure I was prepared for anything with Mason) to the hand off to valet take care of my car. The rain didn't have them skipping ... Read more...
