Twillys are a fun way to customize and dress up your bags. So I wanted to share 8 ways to tie an Hermes Twilly on your bag handles to give you some inspiration. It's up to you if you want to tie a twilly on one or both handles of your bags. In my personal opinion, I think you either wrap a twilly around each handle or none at all. Having a twilly on your bag handles will protect the leather. Therefore, you will get inconsistent wear on your handles if they're not on both. But if you're just looking to get one twilly to decorate your bag with many of these ways to tie an Hermes twilly work great as any accessory to your bag. If you're not concerned about wear on your bag handles, I highly recommend giving these a try! And the beauty about these is you can always switch them up! They're super easy to do, and don't take much time, so on ... Read more...
How To: Wear Shorts in the Fall/Winter
Seasonal clothes like shorts tend to have a short shelf life. In California they have a longer life than in most places but for me it never seems long enough. That's why I pair my shorts come fall and winter with tights, boots, sweaters, or all three! Thankfully up until the last few days it hasn't gotten too cold so it's been bearable to wear shorts and tights. But then again, I'm sick now so maybe I pushed it a little too long! Recipe: Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts
One of my favorite holiday dishes is oven roasted brussels sprouts. My mom always made the best side dishes using brussels sprouts growing up so now that I am the chef in my own kitchen I've adapted her recipe to make it my own. I've been experimenting lately with tasty twists to the original but always using the same key ingredients, brussels sprouts, onion, and chopped pecans. I will admit that I typically eyeball a lot of the ingredients so you will have to see what looks proportionate. Here is the latest tasty creation ... Read more...
Black Friday: So many deals but is it worth the crowds?
Black Friday deals each year are getting pushed earlier and earlier, I mean come on you can't call them Black Friday deals if they start on Thursday, can you? The crowds go crazy for what, an in-store flash sale?? I'm guessing you can tell what my answer is to my blog post title, and it's NO. I hear of people who leave family functions on Thanksgiving to head down and stand in line, or wake up at the crack of dawn Friday morning fighting the crowds to get an extra 10-15% off. Thanks to sites like Gilt, Hautelook, One Kings ... Read more...
DIY Project: Crate shelves
I know I'm among so many people who go on Pinterest for inspiration. You can type anything in a get all sorts of results. Since moving in to our new place I have wanted to make it feel like home, like ours. I can't wait for the day we own our home but for now we have to settle for renting. And as a renter you have to accept that not everything can/will be the way you want. You can try and get as close as possible but with a long checklist one must be realistic. This place is great but one downfall is the bathroom. There's not ... Read more...
Table Setting Ideas Just in Time for the Holidays
I've always wanted to entertain but never felt like I had the space to accommodate guests. Thankfully my husband and I recently moved into a new place. Now, with the holidays around the corner, my birthday quickly approaching, and an overdue housewarming party all things home entertaining have been on my mind, so I was happy to see this post on elledecor.com. I adore Nate Berkus and I feel like him and I have a lot in common. I'm not the best cook in the kitchen (by any means) but design I can do! Reading Nate's guidelines ... Read more...
