Twillys are a fun way to customize and dress up your bags. So I wanted to share 8 ways to tie an Hermes Twilly on your bag handles to give you some inspiration. It's up to you if you want to tie a twilly on one or both handles of your bags. In my personal opinion, I think you either wrap a twilly around each handle or none at all. Having a twilly on your bag handles will protect the leather. Therefore, you will get inconsistent wear on your handles if they're not on both. But if you're just looking to get one twilly to decorate your bag with many of these ways to tie an Hermes twilly work great as any accessory to your bag. If you're not concerned about wear on your bag handles, I highly recommend giving these a try! And the beauty about these is you can always switch them up! They're super easy to do, and don't take much time, so on ... Read more...
Recipe: Butternut Squash + Kale Strata
For last weekends Sunday Brunch I decided to try my hand at making a Strata. The great thing about making a Strata is that you can do most of the work the day before and just wait to bake it the day of. And when you are hosting a party you know there will be enough to do the day of, so anything you can do to lighten the load is great! I found this awesome recipe from Food & Wine. What You Will Need: 2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for greasing 2 pounds butternut squash—peeled, seeded and cut into ... Read more...
Weekend Highlight: Eat, Drink, Repeat!
This weekend was quite eventful! Saturday was spent celebrating my BFF's younger brother's Bar Mitzvah. For those of you that don't know, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah is the rite of passage into adulthood in the Jewish tradition. I am so proud of his accomplishments and the young man he is turning into; we celebrated by dancing the night away to his band PG13. On Sunday I enjoyed my first hosted party in the newly updated garden patio, featured here. I'm so thankful for my friends that made the journey out to "the country" to spend a ... Read more...
Our Garden Retreat: Patio Update
After much work my vision for my parents patio has been realized. I am so happy that my parents listened to me and allowed me to carry out my design for their patio. It used to be a neglected area of their property and now it is a retreat, an area for relaxation and entertainment. If you don't remember I posted a little while back about "4 ideas to spruce up your patio" to make it a more usable and aesthetically pleasing space. I have implemented those 4 ideas and here is the finished ... Read more...
Label for Less
Lately I have had a BIG thing for printed blazers. My eye keeps getting drawn to them and I just want to add more and more to my closet. I have been trying to incorporate more blazers into my everyday wear and rather than go with my staple black blazer (here's the one I wear all the time but in black) I want to spice things up with a bold print. So for this weeks installment of Label for Less I want to focus our attention to the tropical print. This Roberto Cavalli blazer (Label) is just so amazing! The white lapels makes ... Read more...
It was a Grey Kind of Day
To continue the birthday celebrations my dad and I took my mom out for her birthday to Restaurant 1833 in Monterey. This place is fabulous!! I would highly recommend it if you are ever in the area. I loved the ambiance and all of the little touches they've made to make their restaurant unique. Since it was a festive occasion I wanted to bring my Mark + James vest out of hibernation. I absolutely love wearing this vest during the holidays. The mix of textures is great and the sequin detail adds just the right amount of shine. I ... Read more...
